Principal Engineer, Professional Engineer, Nevada CEM
Mr. Miller has approximately 23 years of experience focused on technical, design, field, and management aspects of soil and groundwater characterization and remediation projects and he has managed hundreds of investigations for a variety of clientele. Mr. Miller has been with Broadbent since 1993 where he currently serves as a Principal Engineer out of the Reno, NV office. He has also served as a Board member. His general responsibilities include technical review and guidance, project management, engineering, accounting, marketing, and regulatory agency and clientele liaison. He has comprehensive experience with industry standard environmental characterization and remediation techniques relative to volatile organic compounds (VOCs), as well as alternative/ innovative approaches to risk assessment and risk based closure activities. This experience includes serving as a Portfolio Manager for a major oil company’s environmentally sensitive Nevada sites and as a Project Manager and Supervisor for a federal EPA Superfund acid mine drainage site. His experience also includes drafting a Guidance Document for Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) personnel to follow when managing environmental projects, and developing a risk based process for handling petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil, generated at mine sites in Nevada, which has subsequently been adopted by the State of Nevada.
Mr. Miller has a Bachelor’s Degree in Geological Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. His professional registrations include Professional Engineer in Nevada and California, and a Nevada Certified Environmental Manager (CEM). He is currently a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
